University is the centre of knowledge, happy garden of scholars, holy land of truth. The idea of Harvard University is that with best professors there is no need to worry about research funds alumni donation and best students, which is also the idea of most American universities.Faculty is the essence of university, for excellent faculty can attract many students and gain more funds for university. At the same time, faculty can gain the support from alumni and publics, sustain and improve fame, and help university be recognized home and abroad. The primary duty of faculty is teaching and researching, which is implacable and significant. University faculty training is the key to improving teaching quality, and important assurance to improve ability of teaching and researching of faculty. The potential value of faculty training cannot be ignored when teaching and researching quality being constantly improved.University faculty training in U.S has formed its own features, which plays important role in enhancing teaching quality, improving faculty's teach-ing and researching, University faculty training in China is at the stage of deepening and consummating.
