Studies On The Donations Of Overseas Chinese To The Development Of Education In Guangdong Since 1978

The reform and opening in Guangdong has a long history, and Guangdong is the biggest hometown of overseas Chinese in china. Overseas Chinese are always playing a crucial role in the course of the development of the education field in Guangdong, they not only are the powerful impetus, but also are an important fresh force to education field. Capital donated by overseas Chinese is a principal force besides government to run schools, which plays an important part in the Process of educational modernization. Overseas Chinese fetch in overseas advanced culture through the form of running schools, which has improved the level of overseas Chinese hometown' s culture, fostered talents, filled in the blanks of rural education and changed the backward situation. Therefore, it has great practical importance to study overseas Chinese's donation to the development of education in Guangdong. This paper summarizes the donations of the overseas Chinese to the development of education in Guangdong before1978, and introduces the donations to early childhood education, basic education, higher education, vocational education and Education Fund. Besides, the paper analyzes the characters, the cause and the effect of the donation, and raises the problems in the donations and make recommendations to further promote of the education in Guangdong.
