Overseas Chinese Education During The Period Of Anti-japanese War

The period of Anti-Japanese War is an important one for the modern overseas Chinese education.During this period,the Nanjing national government set up a more comprehensive education systerm and implement better measures . Overseas Chinese education domestic and abroad gradually develop into a complete system. This thesis is consists of five parts such as historical survey of overseas Chinese education,the Nanjing national government's education policies and measures,overseas Chinese education abroad,overseas Chinese education at home and the reflection to overseas Chinese education in Anti-Japanese War.The first part briefly reviewed the history from the late Qing Dynasty to Anti-Japanese War ten years before.During this period,the number of schools increased rapidly and the types of school tended to perfect gradually.The Nanjing national government's attitude to overseas Chinese education become more and more positively.In the second part,the Nanjing national government's education policies and measures in Anti-Japanese War were analyzed.During this period,overseas Chinese education abroad increased rapidly,the Nanjing national government inherit the policies and measures before the war and enhanced the educational guidance.After the Pacific War,A large number of overseas Chinese students and teachers returned home and needed help.Relief measures implemented by the Nanjing national government.However,there are many limitations in Education policy in this period.In the second part,the overseas Chinese education abroad was analyzed particularly.At the Beginning of the war,a large number of students and intellectuals go to seek asylum abroad.Overseas students can not return,overseas Chinese schools beacome haven for students to study.After the Pacific War,the more areas which overseas Chinese gathered was occupied by Japan,the overseas Chinese schools were forced to close.All in all,the overseas Chinese schools had made great progress in size,educational content,type and experience.Especially,several aviation military schools were established by overseas Chinese in order to support the Chinese government in the war.The third part discussed the overseas Chinese education at home in detail.During the war,The Nanjing national government established more secondary and normal schools for overseas Chinese who returned,and increased the number of schools enrollment.This not only reflect the domestic government's greater emphasis on education,but also proved the important role of overseas Chinese during the Anti-Japanese War.Furthermore,these measures were important parts of government's overseas relief policy and promoted the development of education in southwest and southeast of China.Based on research about the condition of overseas Chinese education during this special period,the fifth part had made summary and the appraisal.During this period,the overseas Chinese education showed such characteristics as disparate development,developmental focus shiift and seriously affected by the war.The overseas Chinese education had made a big achievement in management,Resuming and talent's training. However,as the lack of a peaceful environment,there were many shortages such as confusion of management,deficiency in teaching material,teachers and fund.
