The 21 century is the knowledge's times that innovation and application of knowledge are the major characteristic, and the condition of the innovation of knowledge and the prosperous of nation is education. The education is the foundation engineering to improve the whole people's quality, but the hinge to strengthen quality education is the textbook as the medium in teaching activity. The characteristic of chemistry textbook is to cultivate the people who have the innovative consciousness, practical ability, science and humanity quality as well as environmental consciousness in new century. The reality of middle school teaching in our country is the innovative consciousness of student is not strong, their inquiry ability is deficient, and the major reason is the shortcoming of inquiry teaching, and one of the major reason that influence inquiry teaching is the inquiry level of the textbooks in our country is inadequate. Based on the mentioned reason, we proposed this research task. The intention is to research the characteristics of inquiry content and the principles of appearing, concluding the chemistry content that is fit for inquiry, constructing the concrete method of appearing of inquiry content, to provide fixed reference value to the compilation of inquiry content in middle school chemistry textbook and the teaching of the middle school chemistry.This research is based on the analysis that the method of appearing of inquiry content in current middle school chemistry textbooks, combining the requirement of middle school chemistry new curriculum standard, under the guidance theories of constructivism learning,inquiry learning and compilation of textbook, we proposed the characteristics of the inquiry content as follows: society,question,openness,operation,interest and value;Then according to the characteristics of chemistry knowledge, we analyzed and concluded the chemistry teaching content that is fit for inquiry, and these contents should be followed 5 principles when appearing: the authenticity of the situation,the inquiry of the question,the various of the activity,the experience of the course and the autonomy of the conclusion; and constructed the method of appearing that the inquiry content in middle school chemistry textbook when compiling: the situation to appear→the question to give→the activity to inquiry→the conclusion to gain→the meaning to construct.Based on the construction above the theory, We constructed three representative inquiry content compiling styles:"the quality of chlorine"(element chemical compound ),"the reaction on ion"(chemistry conception ) and"the influences condition of chemical balance"( chemistry principle ),and carried out an experiment research on the students of grade one (4)in the GuiGang YuCai middle school and the grade one (255) in HeChi DouAn middle school of Guangxi Province, with the asking we investigated the corresponding teaching and the compilation. The result indicates that most students like learning with the styles we compiled, they can inquiry and gain the conclusion by themselves. They believe their inquiry ability and practical ability will improve if using this kind of textbook to learn for a long time. Therefore, we can draw a conclusion: the textbook is fit for inquiry teaching, which is compiled with the principles of inquiry content and the method of appearing that we constructed.In this thesis we put forward the characteristics of inquiry content and the principles of appearing, concluding the chemistry teaching content being fit for inquiry, and constructing the method of appearing of inquiry content in middle school chemistry textbook.As the limitation of the researcher's ability and the researching time, the conclusions given in this thesis need more checking and verification. The appearing of inquiry content in middle school chemistry textbook need to be further perfected.
