Study On Ethnic Identity Of Maonan Minzu

There are many ethnic groups living in Huanjiang County in North of Guixi. Maonan ethnic group and Zhuang ethnic group are the local ethnic groups. In long historic course, along with other ethnic groups, like Han, Miao, Yao and so on moving into this place, the ethnic groups'relation became complex. Huanjiang County's local history is the ethnic groups'interaction and development history. The ethnic groups'interaction has facilitated the ethnic groups'formation, differentiation and development. And it is also the premise of the identity. And ethnic identity has its significance in the ethnic groups'interaction. This article discusses the relationship between Maonan ethnic group and other ethnic groups on moves, language ,economy, marriage, and studies its ethnic identity in this foundation。In the locality, we may see, ethnic identity bases on the different ancestor. And it plays an important character. The Maonan language is the most dominant cultural characteristic. And it is used as a tool in the identity of Maonan ethnic group. In the country,culture is the main tool for identity; in cities, ethnic source is the main tool for identity, as the culture character is weaking. Because of different experience, people's identity is also different.Maonan Minzu's population is very small, but it still received many scholars'attention. At present, scholars only pay attention to the ethnic source , the history and the cultural of Maonan Minzu. There are few scholars paying attention to Maonan Minzu's self-identity and ethnicity problems. This article uses the angle, the view, the utilization theory and the study method of anthropology. According to literatures and visitings, we can see the formation of Maonan Minzu and the interaction between Maonan ethnic group and other ethnic groups. Take two villages which are located in Maonan mountainous area and county'seat for example, this paper explains the ethnic identity of Maonan Minzu. This sduty has importat significance for us to know and study Maonan Minzu and promote the development of ethnic identity theory. The first part of this article is an introduction. In the introduction, the author reviews the results of ethnic identity research, and elaborates this article's theory foundation, studies method studies goal and significance. The second part describes the field place briefly. The third part mainly inspects the formation of Maonan ethnic group and the interaction between Maonan ethnic group and other ethnic group interactions in the history, according to the literature and visiting.And it describes the change of identity and the ethnic identity of Maonan Minzu on condition of peace in the daily life of Maonan Minzu. The fourth part is a conclusion. It studies in the foundation of the pre-parts, summarizes the characteristic of identity of Maonan ethnic group, and reconsiders pre-researcher's research results and the identity theory of ethnic group.This article believed, in our country, identity characteristic of ethnic group was mainly based on national policy, and influenced by ethnic group factor, contact interaction in history, the change of social environment and so on. Maonan ethnic group formed in the course of social interaction. They have different ethnic resources. But they think they are all Maonan people, because they have the same culture. According to this, ethnic identity can be contructed. Identity of Maonan ethnic group exists in many kinds of identity marks. And the people choose the different identity mark in different field. Not all identity of ethnic group have essential factor, different identity essential factor in a concrete race group. The function of identity is also various, the identity of ethnic group has the multiplicity character. Ethnic group consciousness is changing, thus the identity of ethnic group can change along with the change of historical and realistic scene. At present, ethnic group consciousness has experienced the change of recognition from the ethnic group to the nationality. In the modernized process, in each kind of social factor function, the ethnic group and the nationality recognition display multiplicity, develop towards the multi-polarization and in the diverse direction.
