Focusing on the problems of developing high order thinking in college student, this thesis applies case study to discusses Webquest model of teaching that promotes high order thinking with the help of Webquest and other related theories.The thesis consists of six chapters.Chapter One Introduction Based on the analysis of research background, this chapter proposes specific research problems and further describes the means and methodology of the research.Chapter Two Literature Review The literature review is mainly on the development of high order thinking in college students throughout the country and abroad and further discusses the Webquest instructional model both theoretically and practically.Chapter Three Associative Hypothesis:HOTS and Webquest This chapter put forward the definition and the specific understanding of high order thinking. Also it analyzes the lack of high order thinking that is commonplace among college students today and the causes of this shortage are not ignored. Furthermore, it discusses the correlation between Webqust and the development of high order thinking in college students.Chapter Four Design Hypothesis: The design of Webquest model to promote college students'HOTs After assessing the current situation of IT based E-commerce courses and understanding the instructional theory and principals, this chapter presents a specific design of Webquest to develop the high order thinking skill in college students. The application of this design becomes part of this chapter too. In addition, this chapter proposes some specific means to cope with the prospective problems during the application so as to guarantee the optimal result and achieve the goal.Chapter Five A Case Study: The application and effect of Webquest A preliminary case study has been conducted to test the proposed design. The design is applied in practice to deal with a specific problem and its effect has been further analyzed. Chapter Six Conclusion Facing all the prospective problems, the thesis also leave a possibility for further modification and research of the design, visualizing a promising future of application and study of Webquest to develop high order thinking in college students.
