In English study , many listeners think listening skill is kind of difficult to grasp ,it makes the listeners puzzled at what to deal with .As a researcher ,I find it important to explore the project .Listening competence acquisition in English language learning has concerned many factors .Those that have positive influence on promoting the listening comprehension are under research by many educators. Through learning about them, I integrate some valuable and effective factors with my own experience on teaching listening comprehension for over ten years , I conclude the factors exerting the active role in promoting listening acquisition, in the meanwhile , I analyze some negative factors that hinder the listening proficiency .So I want to tell the English listeners the better guidance and techniques to improve the listening skill and help them establish their own listening porfolios which enable to carry out the listening tasks smoothly and successfully.As is known, listening plays an essential part in English language skills, without which we can't succeed in accomplishing the conversations ,in the meanwhile, the course of listening comprehension is a complicated course of information processing and decoding combined with restructuring the meaning of a discourse., this acquisition process is restricted and influenced by many factors.It is worth exploring that listening comprehension concerns the listeners'internal and external factors, such as: atmosphere ,habitual orientation ,learning styles. It requires the listeners to arrange listening activities reasonably and scientifically.It enables them to create an agreeable and harmonious listening environment (including internal environment). This thesis shows the listeners to eradicate some disturbed factors in listening process ,make use of the available factors and attach an importance to the following six factors; First, select authentic listening materials ,because listening activities depend on the authentic language background .Second, establish a reasonabe task within reach .Third, listening skill is developed by interaction. Forth, the function of schemata ;it means the prior background knowledge and memory schemata make the listeners acquire the information beyond what they expect .Fifth, the role of the visual information. Sixth, use the techniques to improve the listening. In a word, apply the positive factors described in the thesis to practice and the listeners is capable of settling the problems occurring in the process of listening comprehension .
