Physics education is the basis of the whole scientific quality education. In university, college physics is not only the basis of the professional courses, but also plays an important role in improving the students'scientific quality and their scientific thinking ability. With the advancement of higher education and the reform of subjects in college entrance examination, college physics teaching needs a further reform. As we know, the concept in physics is the basis of all the physics knowledge. By combining teaching physics concept with fostering the students'ability, we can put college physics education to the wider space.In this paper, the theory about physics concept teaching is introduced firstly, including the definition ,characteristic ,teaching object, teaching goal and teaching program of the physics concept .Then we discussed the necessity of teaching reform. And also we select and redact a set of concept exercises to go with the concept teaching. We explore some new physics concepts teaching mode through our effort according to the direction of the teaching theory home and abroad. At the same time, we put it into practice and get the feedback from students, advice and suggestions from other teachers to improve and revise the teaching mode. Finally, we complete the optimization of concept teaching by many different kinds of assistance such as making web-page and improve electronic teaching plan.The practice shows that reform in the college physics concept teaching can eliminate some negative effects in the subjects of college entrance examination.(e.g. some students don't select physics). Also it can realize the activation between the students and teachers, urge students to explore activities so that they can finish college physics study in an active and creative way.
