People teach the text "deformation is written" of the Fourth unit in Book 5 for Chinese senior school, "spot on the wall", "wait for the dagger-axe more" (selected), "lonely in a century" (selected) are expressionism, novel of stream of consciousness, fantastic representative works which sends the drama, realistic school of magic in western modernism literature separately. Literature, as art, there are very great differences on techniques of expression such as the language, signifying, etc. in Chinese and Western literature. Our students are affected by traditional realistic works, lacking essential understanding to technique of expression and artistic characteristic of the modern works, bring certain difficulty to teaching of modern literature. I think: On the premise of not influencing the whole progress of teaching, according to the concrete characteristic of the school of literature, we collect perceive the plots of holding wholly, try to figure out the detail and realize links such as the image, etc. Look for the appropriate reference system, understand the ex-method, experience of the literary works of students, and then move to the solving and reading of western modern literature, could help students better understand the features, artistic technique. So, at the period of the middle school, combine the traditional thinking and procedures of teaching, which break through the teaching bottleneck of foreign modern literature in teaching with the method of comparison reading.
