An ideal college teacher should be a professional who has profound professional knowledge, preferable practical competence, excellent capacity of scientific research and special teaching and innovative skills. However, the imperfect quality of college teachers has become a bottleneck of the healthy development of higher education in our country. To boost the college teachers'accomplishment and heighten the quality of higher education, advancing the professional development of college teachers'vocation is one of the effective ways. As the trend of the world teacher education development and the orientation of teachers'education reform, teacher professionalization is also the orientation of college teachers'vocation development. A research to this problem has great theoretical and practical significance.In this article, the existing college teachers'condition and the actuality of the vocational development of college teachers in our country are analyzed. It also puts forward the principles of the professional development of college teachers'vocation, discusses the possibility and necessity of the professional development of college teachers'vocation.Referring to the professional development of college teachers'vocation in advanced countries and associated with the facts in our country, the management method, realizing conditions and the guarantee system of the management are put forward.
