It is obvious that a good film or a TV program will bring great excitement to its audience. Nowadays the paper-based reading materials face up to the world overwhelmed by mass media. Courses of the Chinese language are burdened with the task of improving the students' reading ability. So in front of us is a problem that how we face this challenge.The first part of this thesis deals with the basic grounds of media resources to the research of teaching of reading in the Chinese language. First, the paper analyzes the relationship between media and students' reading. Then, it explain the pros and cons in the field of education. Some scholars hold the positive views that the improvement of students' interest in paper-based reading materials can be fulfilled through introduction and full use of media resources to update the traditional teaching procedure. Others hold the opposite idea that it's very difficult to balance the relationship between the media art and the traditional teaching of Chinese reading courses. Mass media, which teaches its audience something through the images, will perhaps contribute to the weakening of the students' reading ability.The second part of the thesis tells the importance of media into the teaching of Chinese reading in high school. On one hand, the paper deal with rethinking of the reading of Chinese materials in day-to-day teaching. On the other, in terms of curricular reform of developing the resources of Chinese teaching, media resources should be properly used.This passage deals with the question how to use the media resources in the teaching of Chinese in high schools. It tries to touch and solve the topic as to the quality of media. Section Three of the thesis the reason why media program becomes a great attraction to the students. It also compare the difference of the media and text.Section four is the most important. With the help of the questionnaire and the practice of day-to-day teaching of the Chinese language, It pays more attention to the impact of media resources on the students' intellectual and non-intellectual factors, to the analysis of the use of the media resources for the improvement of students' reading ability and to the proposal of combining the media and paper-based reading. First, it tries to explain why media program can attract the students. Second, it helps to analyze how the media helps improve the reading of passage. Last, it explains the effect of the media adaptation of the classics to the students' reading.
