Nowadays, with the dramatic development of science and technology, our society needs people who excel in quantitative qualities. Music education is one of the approaches to quality education. It is the needs and demands of this era to make music teaching better with the modem equipment to achieve its technical excellence. This is the trend of education reform. Teaching design is the primary step of music teaching optimization. This study is based on theories on advancing the teaching process and teaching design and it also combined the modem course design theory. In the thesis, the setup of the best teaching objectives, the arrangement of the best teaching contents, the choice of the best teaching methods, and the initiation of the best teaching evaluation are described. All these are in the context of China's compulsory education in the 21st century, from the perspectives of the necessary advancing music teaching design, theoretical basis, condition analysis, time control and other factors. Literature analysis, comparative research, survey and experimental summary are mainly used to relate theory to practice and penetrate the idea of optimization into each step of teaching design. Allocation and control of the factors in the teaching process under certain circumstances are done so as to achieve the optimization of music teaching design. Hence these play an important role in the reform of music teaching, directing the practice of primary music teaching, optimizing the teaching structure and teaching process. These will in turn help to improve the teaching efficiency and effectiveness dramatically as well as achieving the continuous development of music teaching.
