Education quality is closely related to teachers' Profession identification (PI), which influences the development of students, and the working and life quality of teachers as well. Male teachers (MTs) in primary schools, though holding a lower percentage, occupy a special position in the teaching staff. Their PI directly influences the development of elementary educational reform. By way of questionnairing, interviewing and documenting, this thesis studies these problems such as the present situation of the PI of primary school teachers and different factors affecting their PI. After that, it suggests the management strategies in strengthening the PI of MTs in primary schools, and thinks more rationally on this question.Generally speaking, MTs in primary schools identify with their own profession, but are less satisfied with their pay. There is a noticeable difference between the PI of teachers at different levels. The PI of teachers at urban key schools is lower than that of suburban ones and those average schools in the cities. And the PI of different sexes varies too. The PI of MTs is lower that that of females. Male teachers identify with the school management differently according to their length of service, those MTs with less than five years of teaching experience would identify with the school management more easily than those who have worked longer. The PIs of male teachers teaching different subjects are similar, but teachers of major courses would identify with their working environment, job reward and the school management more easily.
