To emphasize the cultivation of the middle school students' oral ability to communicate is a global trend of the mother language teaching. The new Chinese course standard has changed the listening and speaking training into oral communication, which is a reflect to this teaching concept. It is an important content of Chinese teaching reform as well as an essential measure for the Chinese teaching to suit the development of the society. While various difficulties exist in the oral communication teaching in the middle school: the ambiguous recognition of the communicative concept; the shortage of the teaching theories and especially the lack of the research in the classroom teaching lead to the blindness and even the suspend of the practical teaching. The poor communicative ability of middle school students is far from the demand of the times.This paper points out the counteracts from the following three aspects: cultivating motives; overcoming obstacles and carrying out teacher-student interaction. The advancement of language lies in the courage to speak. The aim of the creating language situation and arousing the enthusiasm is to excite the students' desire to speak. Activity teaching, development the ideas, emphasis on the review and the skill trainings are the ways to ensure the students' ability to speak.This paper emphasizes the significance of the assessment in the oral communicative teaching, analyses the detailed requirements and principles in the assessment, and points out the feasible measures to test the oral communicative ability with the desire to promote study by assessment and to better the development of the oral communicative teaching.
