At present, Sports Anatomy, Sports Physiology, Sports Hygiene and Sports Psychology are main basic theory courses offered to excellent sports teams in Inner Mongolia, they are required courses for athletes of excellent sports teams, which have import directive function to the training of athletes. The athletes are short of interests on the study of basic theory courses all the time. The cause of it lies in many aspects if going into. One of them is because the training made the athletes feeling bodily tiredness, and they had no energy to study. Another aspect is accepting gymnastic training in the early stages resulted in their study not systematically, but the main cause is that the teaching mode now available not suitable for the special population—athletes. To the athletes, they had to go out to take part in many competitions and training, so they are nearly on the move, furthermore, during the course of teaching, the teachers kept to the stereotyped teaching mode just as elementary school and middle school had performed, this certainly will weaken the attractive of the theory study to the athletes, consequently result in series undesirable aftereffects, the results was that the grade of most athletes was bad. For a long time, how to improve the interests of the athletes on study is the emphasis for the teaching to the sports teams. The author of this article have engaged in teaching of basic theory courses which were offered for the athletes in the sports teams for many years, and made rather all-round understand on the training, the basic theory teaching and daily lives of the athletes. Combining with the professional knowledge and teaching theory, I made deeply study on why the athletes grasped the theory knowledge badly. After earnest analysis and summarization, aiming at the characteristicmentioned above, I made improvement on the state of these students'study by utilizing all kinds of teaching means and flexible extracurricular activity. During the course of teaching, by form of passing on knowledge, giving prominence to develop their capacity, and pay attention to bring up their interests and self-confidence on study, and to bring up their motive of study and their good character on volition,strengthen the training of many aspects as attention,the faculty of memory,the capacity of thinking, the capacity of self-study and that of the solving the problem, facing all the students but teaching them in accordance of their aptitude, which offer them more opportunity on study or exercising, developing their interests on knowledge of basic theory, sequentially improve on the bad state of the athletes'basic theory learning. The results showed that after carried out the strategy of improving basic theory teaching, the learning motive of the students were obviously stimulated, their interest on study were enhanced, the sense of main body to study and the capacity for any kinds of study were obviously increased for the students, their grades were improved, finally the bad state of basic theory teaching in the athletes teams was improved preliminary.
