In order to meet the new requirements of the 21st century, and in virtue of the research results of psychology, reception aesthetics and so on, the stipulations of the new Chinese Curriculum standard call for the individualized reading.The individualized reading holds that the students participate actively in the reading and form an independent understanding of the text according to the reading habits of their own, instead of accepting the teachers' passively. It is to read independently not individually. The essence and characteristics of the individualized reading is a dialogue between the reader and the author, and the text is a medium of communication. The mingling of the reader's and the author's opinions rebuilds the meanings of the text.So we think that the teaching process of individualized reading is virtually a conversational process of students and articles or teachers and students or students and students, and that the interrelated factors—teaching of the teacher, the study of students, the choice and disposal of teaching materials, have individual characteristics and requests. To present the status of reading teaching in high school, we are not satisfied with unenlightened teaching ideas, ignoring the training of students' reading habits and lack of instruction of individualized reading to train the ability of the individualized reading, but are supposed to enrich preparations of the individualized reading and attach importance to the process of the individualized reading.The author thinks that, under the instruction of the individualized reading ideas, we may innovate current reading instruction and improve the efficiency of it by implementing dialogically reading instruction, calling for multiplex learning manners, creating various reading instruction modes, and establishing multiplex evaluation system for reading instruction .To achieve these goals, we should first renew our ideas and grasp the spirit of the individualized reading and then in the course of teaching we'd better create a democratic and harmonious classroom environment, and give an encouraging, guiding and constructive evaluation.
