Study On The Application Of Project Management In The R&D Projects In Universities

With the rapid development of the knowledge economy, the high institutions play a growing role in the national innovation system; their statuses are increasing important. The research work is essential in the high institutions; so-called first-class talent, first-class disciplines, first-class university and first-class academic standard are supported and achieved by the research work. The research work has a very prominent position in the three-dimensional structure system with training personnel, researching and servicing social in the high institutions. It directly affects the teaching level, the research competitiveness and social influence of an institution. But the problems existed in the process of R&D project management affect the research capacity of high institutions. They constrain the active role of the high institutions in the development of economic and society.As a new developed discipline and a professional management method, project management is being rapidly spread. In our country, the application of project management theory in the R&D projects is still rare in high institutions, although its applications in larger-scale construction projects and software development projects are relatively much. The management of R&D projects in high institutions demands for the systemic techniques and methods of project management urgently. It becomes more and more important that building advanced and efficient management models in the management of R&D projects.The purpose of this paper is that introducing the modern project management technology to the implementation process of R&D projects in high institution, in order to bring the scientific research funds into play and improve the effectiveness, science and specification of the R&D project management.From the view of R&D activities, it is a typical category of project.
