On the basis of fieldwork and the history documentary research ,this text adopts the method of cultural anthropology and other across-subject theory, which come to investigate and research the cultural changes of the boat dwellers on Ayuttaya by the ethnography method.In the history, Ayuttaya is a place that has numerous rivers surrounded it, so gradually people in this place form a kind of life style that adapts the water.Chinese immigrants have experienced the cultural transmission from the terrestrial dweller to the boat dwellers for the sake of living since they come here. As a result they completely accept the life style of the local people in substantial aspect.But they still hold the self-identification on the terra of spiritual aspect.Since the 20th century, the traditional life style of water-residents in Ayuttaya can hardly adapt the demand of modern society with the development of the Thai society economy , then a new form of cultural change originate from the water-resident to the terrestrial dweller.In this case, the Chinese and local people of the...
