The reform and open policy has been carried out for over twenty years. However, the gap between the east and the west China is extending gradually, not only in economy but also in education, which is especially explicit in basic education. Various factors cause the result that the poor regions of west China can't catch up with the prosperous regions neither in the educational condition nor in the educational quality. As a result, a large number of poor regions' students and teachers can hardly enjoy the educational equity like whom in prosperous regions. To realize the actual state, to study the cause which restrict the development of poor regions' basic education in west China and then to explore the avenue of solving this problem is of real significance not only for achieving the goal of educational equity but also for ensuring the usual functions of our community as well as constructing socialist harmony.This article first expounds the unfair actuality of basic education in the poor regions of west China from the inequity of educational opportunity, educational resources allotment and unfair treatment suffered by the teachers. Then it analyses the main problems that the western poor regions' basic education is confronting inequity both in subjective respect, such as the western poor regions' low level of economic itself, it's awful natural environment and affected by the peoples' traditional culture and ideas, and in objective respect, such as the deficiency of our country's educational investment. The article manage to propose a solution to the problem by improving the western poor regions' productive forces, our national policy guiding, the indemnification of interest and the wide support of our society in order to deserve the attention from the whole society and to support the development of basic education in the western poor regions together. The educational equity will at last come true.
