Moral education (ME) as an important way to trait thought and morality of students holds an important position. However, in these years, the effect of ME has not been improved obviously ,and the teaching of morality has showed neglected by both leads and students. The importance of ME is beyond our suspects and problems lie in how to improve the efficiency of morality class. As far as I am concerned, enhancing the teaching level and reinforcing the efficiency of morality class is the key to raising the status of morality class in school education. It is our teachers'duty to study the law of teaching, to probe the effective ways and to reform the teaching of morality. The article is divided into three parts.The first part is about the theory of efficiency of ME ant its research meaning. The efficiency of ME embodies mainly the degree of ME realizing the purpose, the depth and endurance of effect on students'moral character such as thought, politics, ethics and legality, and the effect on students'discrimination, selection and understanding.With the development of reform and open and socialist modernization, the value of ME is stressed. However, the ME hasn't been able to improve and reform itself according to the change of social existing, which directly shows the erosion of its efficiency.The second part is about analyzing the condition of teaching of morality class. Firstly, in order to know the condition of teaching and studying in the course of ME, we sample survey in secondary vocational school of Chang Chun. Through the questionnaire, we get the information, such as condition of teachers'rank, degree of leaders'attention, attitude of teachers and students to ME. Otherwise, we find the questions in the course of ME, and raise the direct embodiment of these questions, which is the lower efficiency of ME.Then we analyze the reason for producing questions. The first is the one-side view on ME. We locate the purpose of vocational education on training management personnel for production and service, the idea of which become a common understanding of people, ability as the own department becomes the basic orientation of ME. The second is that the characteristic of time and direction of ME is poor. As far as the content is concerned, we often substitute political education for moral education, emphasize on political stand not on morality, and only emphasize on the class nature of ethics not on common nature of it. As far as the way of ME is concerned, the instilling way is too dry and dull. As far as the goal is concerned, it is too high, great and whole. The third is students'quality in secondary vocational school. For example, the idea and belief seeks practical and is short of positive spirit, the purpose of value is diversified and tents to becoming utilitarian, the studying goal is not obvious, the students are short of self-confidence and the sense of inferiority is strong, the standard of behavior is bad and the idea of organization and discipline as well as the awareness of abiding by the law is weak. The forth is influence of internal and external conditional change, such as negative effect of market-orient economy, unhealthy tendency and corruption, and the culture of network.The third part raises the way to fulfill the efficiency of ME in view of questions.
