As educational commentator Patrick 'Bodifit said, appraisement goes to the life of each corner's people of the earth just like the general thorough of Coke Cola. But there are different views about application of its concept and its effect. Different views collect and collide make the appraisement problem becomes a hot point.Examination appraisement is the major content of teaching appraisement. Examination is the most general and most mainly means of appraising student. Correspondingly, examination record becomes the basis of students' appraisement. " Black July " is it's extreme reflection. In middle or primary school, especially in senior school, the students faced the pressure of the exam of go to university. It is very universal to arrange seat according to the examination record. If you have a good record, your seat is in the middle, but if you don't have a good record, your seat is on the side. Examination appraisement system has become a kind of fact judgement, and it's marrow—value judgement has been lost. " What examination examine, what teacher teaches, how the examination to be examined, how the student to study. " Evidently, the current education is a kind of education that aims at examination.During the practice of new curriculum, it has attracted more people's attention to establish the evaluation system in order to enhance the students development. With the reformation in criterion of curriculum and method of teaching, the reformation in evaluation of system has to be scheduled recently. The new curriculum emphasize that: The functions of evaluation system change paying attention to discrimination and selection into encouragement, feedback and adjustment;The contents of it change paying more attention to marks into potential development in several aspects;The technology of it turns emphasizing the quantity into analysis of quality;The principal of evaluation changes single into multilateral;The angle of evaluation has changed from terminative to processive and. progressive, and pays more attention to the individual distinctions of students. The methods of evaluation always adopt many open and varieties of manners instead of the results of papers, such as observation, interview, investigation, show of works, activity report and soon. Under this directive thought, the new curriculum will call for an important evaluation method of quality—"growing record" of studentsMethod of student portfolio assessment, as one of means of qualitative evaluation, emerged from "assessment reforms movement "in the western country .and was applied to instructional practice in America in 1990 s . Different scholars have their own definition of portfolio assessment, In a generic sense, Portfolio assessment is the systematic and selective collection of students work that shows their mastery or growth in a particular subject area over a period of time .In this thesis, student portfolio is based on systematic theories such as pluralistic intellective theories, constructional educational thoughts ,meacognitive theory and class teaching . The importance of the appliance of student portfolio to maths teaching has been emphasized through the research of the basic theories which student portfolio is based on. With the help of students portfolio, students can have better reflection of their study and grow up as independent learners;teachers can have better reflection of their teaching , which will benefit their professional development. Student portfolio can bring students self-consciousness into play, and it also can promote the interation among the teachers ,students an parents.Qualititive evaluation is divided into three steps during the whole Math teaching courses: organization and plans;selection;self-reflection. According to such principles which have combined summary and formability;phases and developing;instruction and independence;quality evaluation and quantity evaluation;evaluation and self-evaluation, we set up a personal Math qualitative evaluation for every student in Grade 1 of senior middle school. The qualitative evaluation records the math study situation of last whole semester through the evaluations of knowledge reflection;practice;lessons' study and literal testing. Furthermore, the evaluation carries on a quality evaluation for each student ranging from the students' courses;Math thinking processes;the ability of solving problems;passion and attitude.The experiment proved : The usage the qualitative evaluation stimulated the students positivity and initiative . It enhanced the students origin cognizing level and the interests of mathematics learning. It also strengthen the close communication between the school andthe paterfamilias . It made the paterfamilias know the students learning procesure at school. And at the same time, it also trained the students self-control and self-reflection ability. It promoted the exertion of the students potential and creation.
