The short reading material which is newly added into the mathematics text book published by the People's publishing Company of Education is of both interest and scientific nature, and it melts the knowledge and education to one body. It so greatly enriched the text book that it totally becomes well polished one and makes new scenery in the field of teaching materials. What role does the reading material plays in the eyes of teachers and students? What's its function? How the teachers and students regard the reading material? What type of reading material do they need? To get known to these questions is the reason and purpose for doing the survey and writing this paper.Students from the school of mathematics and statistics, Huazhong Normal University and part of the teacher and students in Grade 3 Wuhan No. 14 Middle School are taken as subjects in the random sampling survey concerning this paper. The survey focuses on getting to know the present using situation of reading material in the text book for senior students. By colleting the origin data and using the Microsoft Excel Programmer, I arrange the statistics and made pillar pictograph about all the followings from the content used in reading material, the using frequency and efficiency to teachers and students to the content expected, the form and way of presenting expected so as to seek out the factor of reading material's educational function. I also collect the suggestion of teachers and students to provide the fact based advice for the author of the text book to get it improved. At he same time, I analysis the high school students' characteristic of cognition and the psychology of study, excavate the educational function of reading material and propose some practical advice for teaching of the content. It urges the content of the reading material to get reasonable revising, and makes it to truly display function of increasing the students' interest of studying mathematics, broadening students' horizon, making the student deeply in love with science, causing them to learn the spirit of creating, raising their good qualities, and contributing to the teaching of mathematics' switching from test-oriented education to the quality-oriented education. |
