Humor is a behavior pattern, which may bring joy, happiness and inspiration to people. Humor is both a lubricant of interpersonal and a storehouse of wisdom, and humor contains much imaginative power and creative ability, which can help people to shape optimistic attitude towards life. So, humor is a guardian angel for our body and mind. A person will be very positive and full of wisdom if he has got a sense of humor. For this reason, it's good for our middle-school students to develop a sense of humor.As our traditional education tends to be serious and strict, in generally speaking, our middle-school students are introverted and cautious. Not all of them are smoothly getting along with each other, and some of them cannot control their emotions perfectly. All that is quite unfavorable for our students who are growing up and will work in the opening world.In the paper, the writer has comprehensively analyzed the value and feasibility of developing a sense of humor for our middle-school students. Thus, he considered that Chinese people have got some unique characters in humor. Literature works and arts all over the world, both in ancient and present times, also provide much nutriment for students. The features of Chinese teaching have enjoyed some exceptional advantages in developing students'sense of humor. So it is just right and feasible to cultivate students' sense of humor in Chinese teaching in the Middle-school.Based on the research work, the writer has found there are several ways to cultivate our students' sense of humor in Chinese teaching in the Middle-school. Firstly, setting up a humanity environment in class is favorable to develop students'sense of humor. Secondly, Chinese teachers can apply humorous arts into teaching, which is proved to havean effect on students. Thirdly, teachers may recommend students to read some humorous literature books after class in order improve their aesthetic taste of appreciation. The last but not the least, teachers can design some activities and exercises to develop students'sense of humor in practice.In a word, developing students' sense of humor in Chinese teaching in the Middle school should make students understand the difference between humor and comic so as not to bitterly ridicule others or to carry out personal abuse. What's more, students'sound taste of appreciation will be developed while vulgar humor avoided.
