The Foundation And Enlightenment Of University Science Parks In Britain

In 1970s' , in order to solve the economic crisis,Cambridge University founded the firstuniversity science park in England,which set the stage for the coming development of theuniversity science park in England. At first, they developed slowly, and were founded solelyby universities. The government merely proposed , playing by no means the practical role inthis process. The English university science parks developed highly in the middle of 1980s'.Local authorities started to construct them and became one of main construction bodies. Atthe end of 1990s,universities, governments ( local & central )and enterprises worked as atrinity to impel the science parks to grow to maturity. The English university science parkshave gradually turned to the new integrated communities of life, entertainment, work andleisure, and also a new percentage of regional economy increasing. This dissertation describesthe development of the English university science park, summarizes its successful experience,and therefore expects to have a beneficial enlightenment on the construction of the universityscience parks in our country.
