Emotion is one's own experience concerning the relationship between objective facts and one's own thoughts and consciousness. Among people's psychological structure, emotion is the most important psychological factor. It not only widely influences people's psychological activities but also plays a great role in people's cognitive activities and practice. Psychological studies show that only 20 percent of one's success is contributed to intelligent factors, whereas 80 percent is determined by non-intelligent factors. Thus non-intelligent factors are the most important factors in one's success. And emotion plays a fundamental dynamical adjusting role in non-intelligent factors, which cannot exist without the accompany of emotion. Nowadays, talented people are required to not only possess rich knowledge but also have positive and healthy emotion. In China, our compulsory education has long been affected by people's exam-oriented notion, consequently a serious teaching unbalance emerges that knowledge is attached great importance while emotion is neglected in practice. In recent years, as our knowledge about the nature of the subject of Chinese develops and the requirement of the all-round quality of students grows, emotion has been officially put forward as one of the three dimensional objectives in the new course standard. As a result, the emotional factor in teaching is valued than it has ever been. To introduce EQ (emotional quotient) methodology in Chinese teaching can not only stimulate students' interest in learning, nurture their lofty sentiment but also help to realize the objective of Chinese teaching. At the teaching frontier, although some teachers of Chinese have made certain useful exploration in this area, most of their studies are restricted to methods and experience, and the theory in this respect is still lack of being complete and systematic. This paper is intended to explore EQ methodology in Chinese teaching from the perspective of the combination of EQ educational theory and Chinese teaching at high school. It first presents the emotional problem existing in Chinese teaching and then combs through traditional and modern, home and overseas EQ methodologies. The paper puts forward EQ methodology in Chinese teaching at high school on the basis of the modern teaching theory, psychology, pedagogy, etc.. It explores the EQ methodology in Chinese teaching at high school in a holistic and in-depth way, and intends to combine the psychology in EQ methodology, teaching practice of outstanding teachers and their own exploration in practice. The above work is done based on the characteristics of high school students' physical and mental development. And the advantageous condition that the texts of high school Chinese are rich in emotional factor helps to conduct the research. The methodology covers the whole aspects of Chinese teaching from the perspectives of optimization of teaching environment, presentation of teaching contents, stimulation of teaching process and improvement of teaching assessment. Finally, in order for teachers to understand, master and better practice themethodology, some specific suggestions are made for them.
