With the fast development of Internet Technology and the popularization of World Wide Web, the world enters the era of information characterized by the knowledge based economy. Knowledge and information constitutes the important resources and treasure of the society, and information literacy and life-long learning become part of our viabilities of today. Multimedia computer and web have made great impact on our study, work and life style. Education should have the feature of foundation and prescience, which forms the background of that the new round of curriculum reform in basic education has been undertaken, based on quality-oriented education and facing internet science and technology.The thesis is an empirical study, aiming at using internet resources and starting from background and significance of the study, states that using internet resources is the task of this era and discusses the effect of using internet resources on secondary education. It first defines curriculum resources, internet educational resources and web-assisted language instruction, and summarizes most important theories affecting contemporary language learning such as linguistics, psychology and second language acquisition, which work as the substantial base of following practice and contemplation. To reveal the actual effects and acceptance of the application of using internet resources in English learning in junior school education, questionnaires are performed among English teachers of Grade Six and Seven in Zhabei District and students of Grade Nine in Jiulong Model Middle School. By surveying the status quo of the application of using Internet resources in English learning, a series of instructional practice are implemented, taking two subscales, the teachers and the students, to try and find what to use and how to use internet resource in order to improve teacher's instruction and students' learning. After the implementation, there is a posttest using a questionnaire concerning recognition toward using Internet resources in language learning, English learning and learning interest and an evaluation from the students involved, which reflects actual effect of implementing using internet resource in English language learning in junior middle school. Finally, the thesis summarizes and analyses the characteristic and advantage of using Internet resources in English instruction and learning and suggests the existing problems for reference use.Because of the limits of individual energy and ability, this thesis is incomplete in dealing with numerous internet resources. I really hope this thesis will be of some help to the upcoming researchers and it will dovlittle to a mass of teachers.
