Assessment of geography teaching in Yinchuan Junior School, is not only an important field for research, but also the key of reform and development in geography teaching in Yinchuan Junior school.This essay mainly adopts the methods of documental materials ,Practical observation Questionnaires and interviews to invest and analyse the present state of assessment geography teaching in some parts of Yinchuan Middle School. The result indicates: There still exist many problems in which functions, standards belong to single and something is wrong with main body. The way of assessment of this kind of traditional only -for-examination teaching didn't show the new idea of the reform of new courses. But also not suitable to need of quality education. Just for this, I try to put forward a new idea for the reform of new courses in assessment of geography teaching in Yinchuan.Teaching assessment should have functions of slightly distinguish and select, deeply encouragement and development,and draw attention to assessment of teaching and learning.The purpose of assessment is to enhance the students' development andimprovement of teachers and put forward proper way of teaching assessment-portfoli assessment. Secondly, in a way of case, through assessment on teaching and learning .then make a detail statement for the teaching process of assessment of portfolio.
