Assessment and evaluation teaching has been receiving mush attention in senior middle school English teaching. English teachers have been doing some research into this aspect attentively and have developed many effective teaching methods and strategies. In English teaching, we can find that if you want to improve the students'language acquisition ability, you can not only depend on the single assessment and evaluation. The single evaluation can't satisfy the students'need and has no way to reach the demanded standard. Senior middle school English assessment usually takes the form of final tests. However, this form can not reflect the whole period when students study English. In some degree, the effectiveness of the only method to evaluate the behavior of the students is limited.Compared with all kinds of assessment, formative assessment and classroom assessment have their features. We combined both of the assessments to reflect the students'performance of studying English.When they make progress, whether it is great or tiny, it will encourage them to advance in English learning. Therefore we can develop the students'interest in English. And at last we reach our teaching objectives.In fact, formative assessment is a meaning-making process involving an interaction between the teacher and the students, between the students and their behaviors in English study. In this essay, the author tries to establish a formative assessment model that takes the students'motivation and the teachers'qualification into consideration. An empivaical study is conducted analyzing the classroom activities and the interaction between students and the teachers to supply factor in the formative assessment. Therefore, the results of the research aim at providing more effective method for language teachers.In this paper, we will examine the process of assessment and the role of schema in English teaching assessment. And we focus on: 1. Psychological process of assessment; 2. Schema theory; 3. Strategies for English teaching assessment and evaluation.
