Application Of Multivariate Statistical Analysis In College Teaching

Multivariate statistical analysis is a branch of mathematical statistics, which has beenrapidly developed for 30 years. Especially today, computers are very popular, multivariatestatistical analysis has been widely used in many fields such as social science and naturalscience. It is more applied in economy, finance and medicine, but less applied in educationteaching. Especially some normal college faculty used it so little that their work efficiencywas affected. Through using statistics package for social science (SPSS), we can study allfields related with normal university faculty and can make teaching work of college teachersbetter and better. College faculty occupies multivariate statistical analytical meted to deal withdatabases in each field of their work and use them to guild their teaching work through theconclusion gotten in statistical analysis. Meanwhile they can also supply theory bases fordivision of function department.This study bases on multivariate statistical analysis in theory and analyzes the closerelation between principal component analysis method and factor analysis method. The resultsof study show factor analysis method is senior to principal component analysis in the analysisof student achievement. Meanwhile, the study introduces relevant rules of factor analysismethod in selecting factors and the application of factor estimation of students. Namely,through relational data collected, student's achievement is given a factor analysis,comprehensive evaluation is also done for students. And the reason of instituting courses anddifferent traits of different types of students are also done. It can also guild to hunting job. Thestudy also introduces what should be pay attention to when doing cluster analysis by SPSS.As college faculty, we should grasp the scientific method, so that we can guild ourselveseducation teaching work from all directions. Understanding multivariate statistical analysismethod, it has actual guiding values, and can make all work of college faculty get to scientificlevel.
