The 21st century is an age of science and technology developing rapidly and culture andthoughts changing with each passing day;Moreover, It is a competitive and cooperative age.Along with the advancement of the society in the future, the quality requirements for talentswill be higher and higher. Talents are supposed to have a profound knowledge, noble self-cultivation, loft ideals, broad mind, correct outlook on life and the world , strong sense of dutyfor the society, moral integrity and more importantly the spirit of cooperation and creation.Among all of the above, the ability of cooperation and competition is one of the basic abilitiesto survive and develop in the world for the youth. However, in the future society, to have theability of cooperation is of more importance than to have the ability of competition. In "the21st Century oriented International Pedagogy Seminar" convened in Beijing, Chinese andforeign educationalists take it as one of the indispensable qualities for the talents to "have theability to cooperate with others and the pursuit for science and the truth.". InEducation—Fortune lying in it published by UNESCO, it makes clear that to learn to becooperative is one of the Four Buttresses of lifelong study. It shows that the development ofcooperative consciousness and technical proficiency has been the common understanding allover the world. In this thesis, I have study on the development of middle school students' cooperativeconsciousness and offer a few opinions about the development of students' cooperativeconsciousness in history teaching in the "People-oriented" spirit and in light of my ownteaching experience and the characteristics of history subject and the requirements for thestandard of new course of history.The thesis consists of three parts: The first part: cooperative study;The second part:students' lack of cooperative consciousness now;The third part: The development of middleschool students' cooperative consciousness in history teaching.
