The balanced development of compulsory education is a kind of new educationalconcept and view of education development, which corresponds to times character. The coreof the balanced development of compulsory education is the democratization and equity ofeducation. America has considered itself to be a democracy country all the time. As one of thecountries which have the well-developed compulsory education, America can't separate itsachievements from abundant economic strength and perfect educational system. But Americahas also met a lot of questions on the development of compulsory education. The mostoutstanding one is the unbalanced development of compulsory education. Therefore, inAmerica, from federal government to each local state, they all have taken a series of effortsand measures in order to solve many unbalanced questions that have existed in the field ofcompulsory education. They hope to impel the compulsory education into a good orbit ofbalanced development. Especially after the World War â…¡, under the condition of realizing theequal opportunities basically at the stage of entering compulsory education, America hastransferred the reform keystone of compulsory education to promote the balanceddevelopment of compulsory education.On the basis of analyzing the balanced development connotation of compulsoryeducation, this research presents the history course of American compulsory education andsets forth the main representations of unbalanced development of American education afterthe World War â…¡. This research mainly analyzes the principles of balanced development ofcompulsory education which reflect on every policy and report of American education andalso analyzes the main measures of promoting the balanced development of compulsoryeducation. There are great differences in the political system, the economic developmentlevel and the educational system in China and America, but America has accumulated muchavailable experience in making great efforts to realize the balanced development ofcompulsory education. Our country can use the experience of America for reference.
