The problem introduced and analyzed in this paper is the foundation of modern teacher-student relationship in mathematics teaching, and it is delved into in four sections of this paper.Firstly of all, the concepts, significance and main characteristics of the relationship are introduced, and also referred to are the factors influencing the relationship and common principles in the foundation of the relationship.The second section mainly focuses on the relationship foundation in the mathematic teaching, taking into account of the special characteristics in math teaching. And this job is done from the following six aspects: teacher and students' understanding of the education goal in math teaching;the content of math education;the teacher's concepts of math study;class education;appraisal of student study;and the quality of the math teacher;Section 3 illustrates the relationship foundation problem with a teaching instance;Lastly, the forth section suggests further discussion for some problems the author has in his teaching and research activities.
