The mental health, which is taken more and more serious by government departments in education, manufacture and social welfare, is an important parameter reporting man's health. In the same time, more and more problems of mental health about pupils, middle school and high school students are reported by many medias, our party and country pay great attention to these problems. According to the documents of the Party Central Committee, all levels governments try their best to find solutions, and get some effects.As we known, in psychotherapy or in practice, the adjustment of feeling is an important factor to remove the mental barrier of those sufferer. Karl Marx had said:" A fine state of mind is better than ten good medicines to release physiological exhaustion and pain. " And music has unique superiority in adjusting emotion. So that, music education is an effective way to prevent, treat and even cure mental problems of pupils, middle school and high school students because of its nature character.In fact, one of the foundation of that music education can cure mental problems comes from the music therapy. But music education is different from music therapy in its nature and object. It is few to study the mental health of pupils, middle school and high school students on the basis of music education, and even fewer to study the relation of music education and mental health of pupils, middle school and high school students on the basis of their specific mental problems. This paper try to build a systematic theory to elaborate and analyze the relation of music education and mental health of pupils, middle school and high school students. And on the basis of the theory to give some practical opinions and proposals.This paper have four parts, including introduction, the mental health of pupils middle school and high school studentsneed music education, the study of practicability that making music education to solve mental problems of students, the practical proposals of making music education to solve mental problems of students.Part one: introduction. It' s main to elaborate and analyze the present internal and external situation of the theory and practice on the question for study in this paper. And then expound the importance of the selection of this subject.Part two: the mental health of pupils, middle school and high school students need music education. At first, we investigate the mental health of those students, and find out the internal and external resolving for students' mental problems, and then analyze the in-sufficient of them, at last, we make conclusion that those students' mental health need music education.Part three: the study of practicability that making music education to solve mental problems of students. In this section, we study the theory of psychology (about music), the theory of music therapy and the characters of music education. And then we discuss the practicability on theory and practice from those three respects.Part four: the practical proposals of making music education to solve mental problems of students. This section include the principles, the methods and some respects we need pay attention in our music education practice.
