The 21~st century is a knowledge economy era which takes innovation as its motion;Innovation ability becomes competitive emphasis between countries, which needs talents with innovation ability. High education is the major mode of talent culture, so the relationship between teachers and students of universities and colleges running through education process becomes research hotspot.The article focuses on the external and internal relationship between teachers and students by history methodology, then understands the present situation of relationship between teachers and students finding the causes of it by empirical methodology, then seeks the theory basis of the new relationship between teachers and students of universities and colleges by theory methodology, finally it constructs the new relationship between teachers and students of universities and colleges with its core of equality, interaction and innovation.This article selective analyzes the traditional the relationship between teachers and students on the ground of scanning the relationship between teachers and students home and broad. It contains not only the best feature of respecting teachers and loving student and teaching benefits both teacher and pupil alike but also trash of narrow teachers' dignity. Now disharmony of education mental and interpersonal appears in the relationship between teachers and students of universities and colleges, whose reason contains three aspects: first society politico economic and culture's influence;secondly own contradiction of higher education;thirdly teachers and students themselves.This part mainly takes the modern theories as the base, develops the useful and discards the useless and constructs the new relationship between teachers and students of as universities and colleges in terms of theory. The new relationship between teachers and students of universities and colleges premises equality, takes the communication and interaction between teachers and students in the progress of education and aims knowledge innovation and talent innovation. Equality, Interaction and Innovation all have the meanings in conformity with the Times. Equality means teachers and students are equal in personality, rights of learning and thought and teachers' leading students' effect. Interaction means that teachers and students can associate effectively by dialog andunderstanding. Innovation means innovating knowledge and cultivating person with ability. Practice construction mainly embodies the sides of society, school, teachers and students. Society should construct favorable atmosphere of esteeming teachers and education;School relies on evaluation system, credit system, career development system, youth tutorial system, helping poor students system, developing creativity system and complete teachers' ethics to establish agile operational mechanism, also needs reform curriculum provision to build excellent scholastic environment. Teachers need improve personal inner quality by widening knowledge, forming nobly moral, raising teaching arts, reconstructing association between teachers and students. Students should bring up the right idea of teachers and students and the idea of learning.
