Family moral education, a base of and supplement to school and society moral education, plays an important role in shaping and developing college students' ideological, political, moral, and psychological quality. This thesis, based on previous ones, focuses on the content, method and influence of current family moral education for college students, and analyses it and compares it with school moral education. It aims to be able to enrich the theory study of moral education, to arouse the attention from colleges and universities, parents and the society on family moral education for college students, and to provide effective guidance to the practical results of family moral education.Because of the above-mentioned purpose and significance, this thesis starts with strengthening the practical results of family moral education. It analyses, through surveys and literature researches, the current situation of family moral education (the content, method and influence), and its comparison with school moral education. And according to the current situation and problems, it brings up measures to improve the practical results. The whole thesis can be divided into the following four parts.Part one, survey of family moral education. This part mainly sets forth the basic theory of family moral education. First, it probes into the connotation of moral education, family moral education and family moral education for college students, and analyses the relationship among them. Next, it mainly explains the characteristics of family moral education, and indicates those of family moral education for college students. Finally, it oncemore analyses the role family moral education plays on the individual, the society, school moral education, and social moral education, At the same, it analyses the change of family moral education resulting in the transfer from middle school students to college students.Part two, the purpose and significance of studying the current situation and practical results of family moral education for college students. The purpose of the study is to open out the content and validity of current family moral education for college students, to compare family moral education with school moral education in their contents and effect, to probes the problems and reasons in the current family moral education for college students, and to search for effective ways to carry out it. The significance lies in the needs of enriching the theoretical study of moral education, advancing college students' ideological and moral qualities, guiding family moral education for college students, and of strengthening the practical results of family moral education.Part three, survey and analyses of family moral education for modern college students. It mainly expounds the procedure and conclusion of the survey. The study, based on data from the survey and documents, and by means of combining qualitative analysis and positive study, analyses the contents, ways and influence of family moral education for modern college students, and compare it with school moral education, It concludes that: (1) current family moral education mainly focuses more on morality quality (mainly traditional etiquette), and on daily life ability, human relations and study ability rather than political, ideological, and love, sex and psychological health education; (2) family moral education in most families is not of rational and scientific natures, although there are some democratic and scientific natures in some higher-educated families: fathers are more strict and severe to their children while mothers spoil them; (3) there is a direct proportion between the influence and content of family moral education for college students: there are more influences on some aspects of morality, daily life and study ability, human relations and psychological health education than on political and ideological education, especially the education on love and sex; (4) family moral education and school moral education are complementary to each other, but there is a "blank area" ignored by both educations, that is, there is less education on love and sex. They have little influences on college students' attitudes towards politics, ideology, love and sex.
