Study On Reasons Of Junior High School Drop-outs And Countermeasures Against It In An'shang Junior High School From An'qiu City In Shandong Province

School drop-out refers to discontinuing one's study in school, leaving school halfway and forever, including interruption from school, leaving school and withdrawing from school education without finishing the stipulated periods of education, except for normal graduation (completion of a course), death and transfer to another school. It is a long-existed, changing problem in education history. At present, many secondary school students in countryside dropped school halfway without finishing prescribed schooling, and it has been a nationwide problem, though reasons of dropout in different areas differ greatly. Therefore, it needs connecting regional situations and peculiarity with studying school drop-out.This study focuses on school drop-out in An'shang Junior High School from An'qiu City in Shandong Province. The researcher applies study methods such as case study, investigation, interview and documentation in investigating and analyzing reasons of this phenomenon from the points of students themselves, families, society and school education system. The researcher attempts to offer corresponding strategies and suggestions to this problem, and presents useful references to other regions for handling similar problems.In the course of investigation, the researcher finds out that students themselves, students' families, and the local society exerts impacts upon the school drop-out in An'shang Junior High School, with much stronger influence from school education system.
