Studied the occupational self-concept of college students and how it affects their attitude of career choice. Subjects were 385 university students of Grade Four coming from Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing Institute of Technology, Nanjing Xiaozhuang College and Nanjing Population Management Cadre College. Occupation Self-concept Questionnaire and revised Attitude of Career Chioce Inventory were used as research instrument. This research explores the structure of occupational self-concept by factor analysis and the relationship of occupational self-concept and attitude of career choice by path analysis. The results indicate:1. The structure of occupational self-concept has six factors: explicit self, developmental self, dynamic self, supporting self, personality self, occupational moral character self.2. Gender, location and major have different influence on the shape of graduate students' occupational self-concept. Major has main influence on dynamic self and suspensory self. Location has main influence on occupational moral character self. Gender and major have mutual influence on occupational moral character self. Location and major have mutual influence on developmental self. Gender, major and location have mutual influence on occupational moral character self.3. College students' occupational self-concept has different influence on attitude of career choice at a certain extent.4. College students' occupational self-concept has significant influence on compromise and orientation of attitude of career choice. |
