Research Of Present Citizenship Education In Chongqing Colleges And Its Solutions

Facing the urgent need of intellectual of a developing economic society as well as the increasing need of higher education, China's higher education is on the transition from elite education to public education, the direct result of which is the variation of education subject, system and target group. Together they attached difficulties to citizenship education in colleges. The problem is how to ensure the quality of students while the size and quantity are developing. Thus it is demanding of educators to change their ideas with the development of the society, seek the newest information, adjust their methods, and create better ways to meet the new requirement on citizenship education because of the development of higher education.The thesis analyse the present situation of citizenship education in colleges based on a survey which is closely related with my work.. By a survey of some teachers and students in five representative colleges in Chongqing, an enquiry, and a practical visit to net bars around, I concluded the present situation of citizenship education, analyse the main reasons for that in terms of college, students, society, and thus raise my relative solutions:1. Build up a qualified team of citizenship education:2. Change the traditional idea into the idea of education by everyone in the whole scale during the whole process;3. Focus on freshman education;4. Keep on having social practice to make students mature through their own experience;5. Strengthen the culture construction of campus to improve the environment of education;6. Make full use of internet to educate creatively7. Strengthen the psychological education to expand the aspects of citizenship education.
