In recent years, the research-based learning course has become a hot issue in the field of basic education. It has been regarded as an important measure to change students' learning methods and improve their overall qualities in education circle, by means of teaching students proper methods and conducting them to adapt to this new course. Furthermore, it is that propelling the course with high efficiency through the integration of this measure with high school subjects, and the expansion of the resources for the research-based learning becomes teachers' primary concern as well as students'. This thesis comments on developing the exploration of research-based learning in high school by utilizing local historical resources and by particular investigation into the current studying situation of high school students who are using local history resources, intends to give valuable propositions about how to make use of local history resources and launch the research-based learning in high school under new course concepts in both theoretical and practical way.It shows that research-based learning by using local history resources is a kind of investigating-based studying process that students who are under the guidance of experience teachers aim to ascertain a specific historical matter of local history (or special topic, subject), with referential materials on .the Internet or in the library and so on. And it has two distinct characteristics: easy to operate and achieve the goal of studying efficiently; sure to raise student's love for their hometown and inspire student's enterprising spirit.There are designed questionnaires with unique features of the local history in light of previous research results and the opinions of experts who are interviewed and consulted.
