As a very important trend of the development of the world, knowledge economy isbooming. The rising of knowledge economy can be ascribed to the outcome of the longaccumulated material wealth and spiritual wealth of human race, the result of deepeningeffect that the contemporary technology has on the society, the complication andadvancement with the relationship between technology and economy. The introduction ofinformation economy will bring human beings a huge opportunity as well as austerechallenge. Known as "half of the sky in national education field", our occupationaleducation is no exceptional. The knowledge economy is the economy which considers scientific technology asthe fertility, whereas the scientific technology can only be transferred to the fertility inreality while being used in production practice。This transform link is the very goal andmission of occupational education. Research shows that the knowledge level and thediathesis in economic system are the important components of production function,arethe inner momentums to improve the productivity. With the advancement of economyand the improvement of technology level, the request for labor force is getting higher too.Hence, knowledge economy calls for a more active and influential occupationaleducation system to advance the knowledge and technology level. This article attaches great importance to the features of the contemporaryoccupational education. On basis of analyzing the successful experience from across theworld, it also explores some temporary problems as well as opportunities lie in this field.Combined with the author's own working experience, using the research result of expertsfrom home and abroad as reference, this article expatiates the relationship betweeneducation and urbanization, sets forth workable suggestion and concrete measures for thedevelopment of occupational education.
