The relationships between professional stress,social support and professional burnout among 616 teachers were investigated by Pearson correlation analysis,two-way ANOVA and canonical correlation analysis. The results showed that: The degree of professional burnout of teachers was not much serious,while the degree of professional stress was serious. The degree of social support of most teachers was high. The higher professional stress was,the more serious professional burnout was. The aggravation of professional burnout attributed to the increase of professional stress rooted in students,family and development principally. The higher social support was,the less serious the professional burnout was. The change of professional stress wasn't obvious as the degree of social support increased. However the stress rooted in students,family decreased,the stress increased come from working load when the social support increased. The professional stress of teachers had significant effect on professional burnout,the social support had significant effect on professional burnout,the interaction between professional stress and social support was significant. The social support had buffer action between professional stress and professional burnout,social support could cushion the negative effect attributed to professional stress,alleviate the degree of professional burnout furthermore. The social support alleviated professional burnout by cushion the stress rooted in students,family and development mostly.
