Content: With the progress of the times, knowledge as the first productivity becomes to show its strong power. Traditional methods can not meet the requirements of modern education. The computer, a new media, is widely used in the new educational forms with the decrease in cost.Computer is applied in education mainly as follows: one is that computer as the media is used in teaching—computer auxiliary teaching; the other is that computer can be used in educational teaching administration and management of resource. These two parts constitute auxiliary educational system.With the popularity of internet and its application in teaching, students can not only interact with information resources through man-machine communication way and online course, but also make dialogue with teachers through mail, voice mail and video conference system or cooperate in studying online with other students through groupware.Our country is a developing country. Educational resource occupied per capita is limited and the levels in different areas are extremely uneven. With the perfection of computer network, tele-education, the new teaching method, plays a very important role in overcoming our present difficulties, meeting the needs of life-long education, national education, Individualization educating and socialized education in information society and accelerating our educational undertaking. This paper explains the origin and development of tele-education, including the emphasis on development of foreign tele-education and several main tele-education theories, then analyzes our country tele-educational resources and examine the advantages, hot tele-education and problems existed in practice. At last, it lists some successful examples of tele-education.
