In accordance with the national standard of the subject , Englishfor Senior middle school, this paper attempts to explore the applicationof the Task-based pedagogy in the teaching of reading and writing insenior middle school.The first part, the theoretical basis of Task-based pedagogy andsignificance of the subject, introduces its essentials and theoreticalfoundation, and also draws an outline of its development and formation .The second and the third parts focus respectively on theexploration of the practical use of the model in the teaching process ofreading and writing by designing tasks successively pre-, in-and postteaching activities.The last part institutes a comparison between the two counterparts,Task-based and traditional approaches in China, and consequently comesto the point, as the conclusion argues, that such an advanced theoryshould be in line with the characteristics of English teaching in China.
