In the fall of 2000, research-based learning formally entered into middle school chemical class. As a new teaching method, it seamlessly combines the goals of cognitional learning, skill-oriented learning, and experience-oriented learning processes, with emphases on direct student participation, learning through first-hand experience, and student interaction and corporation with others. Therefore, research-based learning has shown strong potential from the moment it entered the classrooms. While we are criticizing the problems of receptive learning, we should not forget the reasonability and practicality of this theory system developed through many years of practice. On the other hand, we should also notice the disadvantages of research-based learning while we are promoting it and taking its spirit of the age and its mainstream value as a power source for pushing the development of education. We think the proper practice of receptive learning is as important as that of research-based learning for the success of education. The two should complement each other and build each other to meet the needs of the society.Although receptive learning and research-based learning have their own intension, they are never independent of each other; but rather, they are associated and interact with each other. The author believes that they should be integrated in teaching. The best approach for integrating the two processes is through "learning in research" and "researching in learning". Based on this approach, the author proposed a teaching model that could serve as a guideline for the practice of these learning approaches. In the last part of the thesis, the author explains how to apply research-based learning in middle school classes and how to integrate receptive learning with research-based learning, with consideration of practical situations in middle school chemical class, starting with problems in teaching material research, college entrance examination, and real-life chemical issues. From the proposal of the question to theoretical exploration, from analyzing the differences to integrating the approaches, and to the application in middle school...
