Chinese Ministry of Education promulgated "Teaching Plan of Senior Middle School Courses", in which they added Discussing Research Method (DRM) as required course. The aim of DRM is to develop students' practicing ability and to encourage students' new ideas. And it is also the main method and the way to follow. As a New subject in educational course system, to start DRM course conforms to the world education reformation. Gansu as undeveloped area in the northwest of China, its education basic is much poorer than other places. As an experimental subject, chemistry is very close with our lives. So we should develop DRM to encourage students' studying activity. In present study, the author investigated the situation of DRM, managed to give some practical advices and offered both theoretical and practical experiences to consul. Here ate the following five sections discussed:Section 1: Introduction. The aim, the meaning, the method and the thinking cap are discussed.Section 2: The investigation and analysis of the status in quo of the chemical project study in Gansu province. Thoroughly investigation is done to all of the 24 provincial senior high schools, some of the teachers and students in five of which are investigated, knowing the situation of their researching and carrying out the project study. Believable data have been got and analyzed. By stating this section, the attitude of project study of the teachers and students in Gansu Province is known, at the same time we see some restrictive facts in developing chemical project study, providing us some foundation to do the studying.Section 3: The characteristics, types, the process of project study, aims, choice of teaching material and teaching module are discussed. This part mainly directs the chemical project study theoretically.Section 4: Some cases of chemical project study. The patterns and process of chemical project study are enumerated from inside and outside the classroom and some real examples are provided. Various types of chemical project study methods are mentioned to different conditional high schools.Section 5: Countermeasure analysis and suggestions. From investigation we find out that teachers and students are full of enthusiastic about carrying out chemical projectstudy, and the organization and management system is good. The main influential facts to project study mainly lie in exterior facts (local government, educational department, community condition and parents) and interior ones (headmasters, teachers, students, school culture and courses). Suggestions are given according to the real situation, attention points, strategy and implement point.
