Plane geometry is a very important part in junior math education. In recent decades, math experts and teachers both aboard and home have done a lot of research work and gotten many achievements. In the new reform of math course, the "Fulltime system compulsory education Standard of Math Course" (experimental version 2001) gradually takes the place of the old "Teaching Program of Junior math" (revised version 2000). During the period of compulsory education , "Space and Figure" is developed form the part of "Geometry" in the old "Teaching Program" . But what' s the aim of this kind of development? What' s the change in the content correspondently? How can we reflect the thought of the new course in the teaching of "Space and Figure" . With the thinking of these questions and the experience of math teaching in the past ten years, and with the passion for the research of geometry teaching, the write, with many other teachers around him in Kashi, Xinjiang province, who are now having experiments on new course, are doing some research work on the math teaching of "Space and Chart" in junior school.It is very important that "space and figure" can develop students' sense of space. Through , observation and teaching experience, this paper points out 4;he positive and negative influence to junior students, which is made by the traditional geometry teaching guided by the "Teaching Program" . At the same time, it clarifies the importance of the teaching of "space and figure" guided by the "standard" . After the review, analysis and thinking to the geometry teaching research both home and abroad, this paper draws a conclusion- geometry teaching research has very practical significance. And, it makes some comparisons on the teaching of "Geometry Teaching" guided by the "Program " and the teaching of "Space and Figure" guided by the "Standard" . From these comparisons, the writer gets some principles that should be followed in the teaching of "Space and Figure" and with the teachers who are having reform, does some discussion about the model in the teaching of "Space and Figure" . After that, this paper explains the fulfillment of the teaching of "Space and Figure" guided by the "Standard" , does some research on the importance , ways and tactics to cultivate junior students' sense of space. Meanwhile, it also dose some research on the promotion to the teaching design caused by modern media in teaching, shows some examples and analysis so as to explain how to do in practice. At last, it does some research on teaching evaluation about "Space and Figure" .
