At present, there are some urgent problems for us to investigate, such as how the Science course reform has being carried out? Are there any problems in Science teaching? So, keep an eye on the teaching of Science course in Longnan practically has an important significance.Questionnaires, interview and observation were used in the study. Under the guidance of the expert, a thorough investigation of the present conditions of Science teaching in primary school has been carried out through questionnaires to teachers, students and interview to the leaders of schools. The investigation relates to the basic information of the arrangement of Sciences course, the basic information of the Science teachers, general information of the teaching of Science, the teaching resources of the Sciences course and the Sciences teachers' training etc in Longnan. The objects of the investigation refer to 26 teachers, 210 students in Grades Three and the school leaders of local 22 schools, getting 26 copies of teachers' questionnaires and 210 copies of students'. According to the Huixian country's condition, 4 city primary schools, 4 town primary schools and 7 village primary schools were investigated.From the investigation, some shortages of the new standard of Science curriculum's being carried out were found: First, both the local Educational authorities and the leaders are lacking of understanding of the new curriculum standard. Second, much influential was given to the other courses (including Science) by "double course" (Chinese and Mathematics) Traditional teaching methods haven't been changes thoroughly, students' active thought hasn't brought into play and enquiring-study hasn't been used sufficiently. Fourth, Lacking of full-time Science teaching. Fifth, lacking of the investment and inadequate experiment has a great influence to the carrying out of the new standard of the Science course. The lag of the evaluation system is affecting the enthusiasm of the teachers' teaching methodreform. Meanwhile, the achievements of the new standard of Science's being carried out in Longnan primary schools are also great, For example, Science course is being teaching in most of the primary schools and some of the teachers are trying to learn, to have an experiment and to carry out the Science course. All the teachers know the importance of the students' full-development. Some universities have already had the major of Science Education, which will enable Science teachers to be trained. Science teachers are becoming maturing in Science teaching etc.The investigation also reveals the advantages and disadvantages existed in Science teaching in Longnan primary schools, which has provided some useful actual materials for improving the teaching of Science in Longnan primary schools. Furthermore, some Countermeasures and suggestions were given such as changing teachers' teaching notions, enhancing teachers' training and using some appropriate teaching methods etc. |
