Many facts have proved that manpower plays an important role in an organization's success. How can an organization have talents who are needed by it? How can it make them create good performance to promote its development? These are key problems for an organization. As a famous professional technology college in Sichuan Province, Sichuan Architecture Professional Technology College is in surroundings which include both opportunities and challenges. Our country supports the development of professional technology colleges. Also society needs talents with professional technology. On the other hand, competition among professional technology colleges is very fierce. How can this college succeed? The college itself has realized that talents are very important and have taken some measures to motivate employees. The author makes Sichuan Architecture Professional Technology College as object of study. By analyzing its human resource and compensation system, the author puts forward the defects. By using related motivation theories and compensation theories, the author carries out work analysis, position evaluation and so on. At the same time the author compares the college's policies and systems with some other universities and colleges. Finally the author puts forward some compensation measures by joining the college's reality. The measures aim to attract, keep and motivate talents and to make employees work more actively and initiatively. In this way these measures can promote the college to develop rapidly. During the process of research,the method of combining theory with practice is used. Motivation theories of Organizational Behavior and compensation theories (including compensation investigation,work analysis and position evaluation) of Human Resource are applied. Sichuan Architecture Professional Technology College has been carrying out compensation reform. The guidance is that compensation system should reflect motivation and the college should carry out appointment system gradually. These opinions can give some reference for the college's reform.
