With the rapid development of economy and science in 21st century, communication among people in every field is becoming more and more frequent. This makes a great demand upon practical writing skill than ever before . We can say , to learn practical writing well is to meet the need of market-directed economy, and being good at practical writing is a basic quality that a citizen should have.For students in technical schools, it is especially important to learn this kind of writing very well. But, up till now , the teaching of practical writing is in low efficiency. So it is quite necessary for Chinese teachers in technical schools to reform their teaching. This thesis probes into the teaching reformation of practical writing.How should we reform? Fist, the author has found that low efficiency is due to the main cause that the education concept is backward and out of date. Teachers are always instilling dogmatic knowledge into students. Consequently, students have become passive receivers. Then the author argues that adoption of Communicative Teaching Approach is a good solution to this problem .He combines this theory with his teaching experience and has constructed a communicative teaching mode of practical writing: setting questions-communication and seeking-generalization-transference-systematic rethinking.Firstly, teachers should set questions as original and prac- tical as possible to around students' interest and their de- sire to communicate for knowledge.Secondly, in communicative activities, teachers should ask students to relate their learning to social life and encourage them to consult a lot on equal and mutual beneficial terms, such as teachers, classmates books, magazines and pub-lie figures .The process of communication is an open and cooperative one with communication and dialogues. It is not only a kind of professional and writing practice, but also a course of understanding and production. It can help students to cultivate their self-teaching ability, exploit their internal motive force and develop all-around abilities.Thirdly, generalization is to make a general conclusion from communication and seeking . It is beneficial to acquire general knowledge and the law of practical writing. Obviously, it can also favour knowledge consolidation and transference.Fourthly, practice and transference can consolidate the acquired knowledge and promote students to master practical writing skills.Finally, systematic rethinking is for both teachers and students to systematically summarize and rethink about their teaching and learning together or individually. It aims to make their teaching and learning more reasonable and efficient by summing up their experience. Teachers ought to adapt their ways of teaching timely.In a word, communicative teaching mode of practical writing is based on communicative Teaching Theory, Analytic Theory, Success-oriented Education Theory, and Construction Learning Theory. It has solved the problems in traditional teaching of practical writing. It is going with the teaching reformation stream and can satisfy the need of giving free rein to human subjectivity. Therefore, the author claims that it should be a highly-efficient mode which can be further developed.
