Based on the theory of modern cognitive psychology and pedagogic psychology, this paper used investigation and practice methods to study the theory and application of learning strategy in the chemistry of senior middle school. The paper surveyed the historical origin of the idea and the backgrounds of the rise of the learning strategy research , and reviewed some facets such as its concept, structure, feature and teaching; the paper investigated and analyzed the present status of the learning strategy, the learning habits and the thinking process of problem solving of senior middle school students; the paper also committed a theorical and practical study about the instruction and training of chemistry concepts learning and problem solving strategy in senior middle school students. The result of the study showed:(1) The senior middle school students can use memory strategy effectively and have relatively strong learning motive.(2) The majority of senior middle school students have not mastered the effective organization strategy and problem solving strategy and they are not good at using social strategy.(3) There is no significant sexual difference in the mastering of learning strategy in senior middle school students.(4) Quite a lot of students haven't formed favourable chemistry learning habits.(5) When combined with the chemistry lessons, the teaching and instruction of learning strategy may produce some effect .However short-term strategy teaching can only improve a certain degree problem solving ability in some special domains of subject, and only with the long-term perseverance and the collaboration of multi-subjects, can the "popular" transfer be achieved.
